Swazi Scouts are holdingĀ  Strategic Development Workshop at Simunye Club in the eastern part of Swaziland. This is a historic event for the association and is expected to produce the much awaited and important Five year Development Plan which is in line with the World Scout Movement Vision 2023. Swaziland is expected to develop a Strategic plan, as required by the Swazi Government, which has allocated a budget for the association. The Five Year Development Plan will be part of the first Triennial of the WOSM Vision 2023 and expected to cover the period between 2015-2020 and beyond.

The Strategic Planning Workshop is financillly supported by the Swazi Government and technically supported the World Scout Movement Africa Regional Office.

The Swazi Government has once again reassured the association that financial grant towards Scouting will be available through out the duration of the process of developing the Strategic Plan and implementation stages. This was revealed by the Director of Youth Mr Bheki Thwala during the official opening of the Strategic Development Workshop. Thwala challenged the leadership of the organization to make strides in making sure that the Scouting in the Kingdom take lead in the implementation of the National Youth Policy rolled by the Swazi Government. On behalf of the Ministry of Youth, the Director expressed gratitude towards scouts for the spirit of volunteerism.

On behalf of the Swaziland Scouts, the Chief Scout Mr Richard Magongo assured the government that the association will fully implement the Strategic Plan. Magongo challenged the leadership of the association to to practice good standards in leading the association and do record keeping properly.

The National Executive Chairman, Mr Leonard Dlamini also assured the Swazi Government that the Executive Committee will safeguard the effective implementation of the Strategic Plan
